On line 59, column 21 photo)

Music has been an important tool in our society for ages, from different forms of expression to new ways of storytelling, music is one of humanity’s best tools of communication. Music can evoke emotions that have never been felt before and can never be described perfectly. At the same time it can also finally put what you’ve been feeling for weeks into the perfect words. The multitude of methods that exist within music designed to connect with its listener are methodically thought about by its creator and fellow producers. While we all experience things differently, what matters is the message was received and now there’s a song that describes something you’ve been feeling better than ordinary words could ever convey.

The band “Far From Heaven” has recently released their debut single on Feb. 16, 2024 called “Have you Decided It’s Enough?”. The song’s genre is something like alternative rock shoegaze. It tackles some heavier topics such as exploitation and neglect. There is one female singer and one male singer throughout the song. Based off the lyrics, they are in a mentally abusive relationship where the male partner is manipulating her into staying with him by telling her,

“It’ll be fine, it’ll be fine, If you take my hand,”. In which she responds with,

“I’m getting used to being used by you, I’m not a noose so cut me off, you say you’re staying but I’m losing you, have you decided it’s enough?,” this being the chorus.

While of course music can be whatever you interpret it to be, the songwriters and producers have shed light into the deeper meaning of the song’s lyrics. When the chorus comes back around for the second time, you can hear the male singer screaming his own lyrics in between hers, saying

“Keep lying to you, sprinkle on deceit– Don’t even make it seem I’m using you– You’re all that I could ever want– You’re sabotaging once again– Think it’s ‘bout time I’m givin’ up,”.

His lyrics further prove his own corruption and depravity, claiming she’s all he could ever want then immediately giving up once it doesn’t work out the way he wants it to. Accusing her of sabotaging a relationship that she was miserable in to clear his own guilty conscience. Plenty of people have been in similar situations to this song, feeling neglected and used by their partner. Experiencing neglect from someone you sought out can be an extremely lonely feeling. Know that if or when you find yourself in a similar position that you are not alone and your friends, family and close ones can support you through those hard times. If it’s not obvious, relationships are a two player game or more… If that’s your cup of tea. Nonetheless, sometimes things will turn out differently than you expected and that can be scary. What’s important is to have an honest and open line of communication between you and your partner so that you can problem-solve together. If that person is not meeting the expectations you set for someone being your significant other then talk about it, do not let it fester. Significant others are meant to be your safe space and not a childish mind game. Learn to grow with each other and not to tear each other down.

https: |

These members embarked on a mission to make a difference in their community, recognizing the vital role played by Animal Care and Control in reuniting lost pets with their owners and facilitating adoptions, the organizers were determined to lend a helping hand.

Their efforts began with a fundraising campaign that involved reaching out to local businesses and conducting door-to-door visits to solicit donations. They raised $427 in donations, along with collecting approximately 40 towels and blankets to aid in the care of shelter animals.

“We wanted to do our part in alleviating the hardships faced by homeless animals,” Akinremi said, one of the project’s organizers. “Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference in improving the lives of these animals while they await adoption.”

Doss echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in supporting initiatives like, “The Blessing Basket.” With their fundraising goals met and supplies in hand, members delivered the donations to the local dog shelter in Severna Park, Maryland.

They provided assistance to Animal Care and Control but also served as a testament to the power of compassion and grassroots activism in effecting positive change.

As Coard reflected on the project’s success, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of shelter animals.

“Being able to contribute to the well-being of these animals has been incredibly rewarding,” Coard stated. “We hope that our efforts will inspire others to take action and support worthy causes in their communities.”

https: |

On line 180, column 21 /span>

We discovered early on that Charlie closely resembles a toddler, and when he does not get what he wants he throws a temper tantrum accordingly. This consisted of, digging at you, throwing things, thumping his feet, and overall being a menace to our otherwise peaceful household. Charlie also holds grudges, and will hold them for as long as needed for his point to get across. Once, my mom was trimming his nails, and accidentally trimmed his nail too short. He was physically fine, but clearly was in emotional distress, and made that obvious. For about a week he refused to snuggle with my mother, and instead would sit with anyone else and silently glare at her from across the room.

Charlie, also like a toddler, thinks he is bigger than he is. For reference, Charlie is about half the size of our cats, and yet he will charge full speed at the predators and aggressively thump and grunt at them. Part of this behavior is due to his jealous nature. When someone is giving attention to a cat, or even to another person and they are stupid enough to do so in front of Charlie, he will make himself known. He will push the attention hoarder out of the way and will assert himself in their place, demanding pets and kisses.

Something interesting I have discovered is the way he nibbled you. I originally thought that this was a sign of aggression, that I was invading his personal space, or that he needed something like snacks. However overtime I actually believe this is his way of playing tag with me. He commonly does this when I am standing, and he will gently nibble my legs, and I will move away and he will chase me, occasionally nibbling my legs. This has led me to notice how often he chases people, he also chases my sister and sometimes the cats in a playful way. This is his way of feeling like a predator, and is his way of being the big, scary bunny that he thinks he is.

The way he lays, depicts whether or not he wants to be petted. Charlie does something that we refer to as “the superman”, when he lays like superman with his paws stretched out in front of him. When he is stretched out like this, he is subtly suggesting that you scratch his head and ears, but you mustn’t touch the rest of his body. When he lays like a croissant he does not want any pets, in fact, you can’t look at him the wrong way, or you are disturbing him. When he is a loaf, all is fair game, he is not asking for love, but he’s not complaining either. The most important one to remember is when Charlie loafs, but lays his head down. This an order to pet his head, if you do not, there will be grave consequences.

Charlie has many, many toys, most of which he refuses to play with, however he has one toy that he loves, and that is his baby keys. Yes, the rabbit plays with, rainbow, plastic, baby keys. Allow me to explain, when Charlie was a wee thing, he was running around and playing with my grandmother’s purse. While playing with her purse he discovered a fascinating new toy, shiny, metal, car keys. He promptly ran away with them. After the incident we decided to sacrifice my baby sister’s toy keys to the rabbit, and to this day, they are his favorite toy. Charlie does not share the few toys he actually plays with, normally this isn’t a problem, as our cats do not play with keys, but this is a problem when it comes to the tunnel. Both the bunny and the cats love running through the tunnel, and they especially love running through it when someone else is on the other side. They willingly run face first right into another animal for the thrill of it. It is heart attack inducing as a pet owner, especially when it appears that they refuse to stop.

Although Charlie is a child, expensive, rude and needlessly sassy, he is above all, precious. There are still things I’m learning about him, but I’m happy to say I think I have a pretty good grip on his bunny language.

https: |
